Summary

  • This article explains how to process payroll when cleaners earn different hourly rates depending on the type of appointment or service they performed.

Important

  • Each appointment must be assigned a Service Type (e.g., Residential, Deep Clean, Commercial, Move-In/Out, Post-Construction, Airbnb, etc.).

  • All accounts start with a Residential Service Type by default.

  • These types allow you to recognize which rate applies to each job.

Assigning Service Types to Appointments

  • Once the new service types are added to your account:

1. Open each appointment in your calendar.

2. Edit the appointment.

3. Mark the appointment with the appropriate Service Type using the dropdown. This can be located below the customer's name

Example: “Commercial Clean,” “Move In/Out,” or “Airbnb.”

Accessing Payroll

1. From the ZenMaid Dashboard, go to Payroll.

2. If you already have a draft payroll, click View and Edit on the right. If not, select the date range in the top left corner and click Run Payroll.

3. Locate the job or appointment you want to review.

4. Identify the Service Type to confirm which category applies.

Adjust Wage Rates by Job Type

  • Select Edit next to the appointment.

  • Update the Hourly Rate or Variable Fixed Rate to match the pay for that service type.

Example:

1. Residential = $21/hour

2. Commercial = $22/hour

3. Move In/Out = $25/hour

  • Confirm all rates before finalizing payroll. Once submitted, payments will reflect the updated hourly rates for each appointment type.

Side Note

  • The Variable Fixed Rate option can be used as a general-purpose base rate for flexible pay structures, such as commission or hybrid models.

  • Changes made here affect only that appointment and will not alter other job types or future payroll runs.
