How to pay your cleaners by percentage pay and notes to consider

When you add a cleaner, you can set them up to be paid with Revenue Share.

In the Payroll, the amounts based on the appointment sale will be calculated by the cleaners. You can also split the amount if more than one cleaner is assigned.

Notes about this pay rate:

  • Discounts on cleanings do not affect the commission the cleaner gets.

  • If you pay on commission, the multiple cleaners assigned to a job will get a cut of the revenue of the appointment. If you want the amount of commission to be based on the clocked times, you will be able to manually adjust those numbers when running payroll. For example, a three-hour job is charged $300. There are three cleaners assigned and each makes a 25% revenue share. On the payroll, you see that one cleaner was only there for 1 hour while the other two were there for the full three hours. You would then manually adjust the one cleaner to make $25, while the two cleaners would make $75 that the system calculates.

  • If you have a revenue share at 50% for your cleaners and three cleaners show up, and they spend the same exact time at the appointment, you can have the system do both ways. The system can split the 50% 3 ways or give each 50%. There is a pink button where you can tell the system to split it or not called "click here to revert back to the old payroll calculations”

  • If the cleaners are set to be paid on commission, you can not select to pay them at an hourly rate just for one job on the payroll. You can however adjust their percentage to pay them different amounts of commission based on the time they spent on the job.

  • If three cleaners show up at different times, clean for different lengths of time and you want to pay by commission, you would manually figure out the correct percentage based on the exact times each person was there. We have not seen a maid service owner pay in this manner since it is too time-consuming.

  • The system only can figure out each time separately for each person based on the total time they spent on the job by the hourly wage, not the revenue share wage. Same with flat rates and variable rates, clocked times do not automatically affect pay.

  • The system does the math for you if cleaners have different revenue share percentages such as one at 50% and another at 45%. Like below:
