Summary:

  • ZenMaid offers robust tools to help business owners track and report financial data. These tools not only provide insights into profit and expense details (from Payroll) but also allow users to distinguish between projected revenue and actual earnings.

  • Additionally, ZenMaid helps differentiate between projected revenue, which reflects scheduled services, and actual revenue after the completion of services.

Accessing the Revenue and Expenses Report

  • From your ZenMaid dashboard, click on Reports, then All Reports.

  • On the next page, under the Management section, find the Revenue and Expenses and click on it to run the report.

  • You may toggle with the From and To fields to change your report's start and end date. This is useful if you want to see daily, weekly, monthly reports, and so on.

  • Afterward, click "Run Report".

Revenue and Expense Report Overview

The report has the following details:

  1. It shows the revenue for the date range you entered and the net amount after payroll deductions.

  2. It has the number of paid/unpaid appointments and approved payroll.

  3. The report also contains a graphic representation of the income for that specific period

  4. It highlights the difference between projected revenue (based on scheduled appointments) and the actual revenue after services are completed.

What Is Included In The Revenue and Expense Report

  • When you run a revenue report, appointment prices (including any discounts) and overcharges are included in the Revenue section, as they contribute positively to the business.

  • Tips and tax are included in the grey box, not in the Revenue section, as tips and tax do not count as business revenue.

Additional Information

Please note:

  1. Reports are generated instantly; however, the ZenMaid Dashboard only refreshes every 24 hours.

  2. The revenue section is based on the scheduled appointment price (both paid and unpaid), including forecasted revenue, rather than the amount charged to a card.

  3. If appointment data doesn’t appear in the revenue reports, verify that the "Include in reports" box is checked in the Appointment Status page and the specific status setting.

  4. An appointment’s payment status doesn’t automatically place it in a revenue report. The report reflects the appointment based on when the service occurred.

  5. Appointment statuses excluded from revenue will still appear in the List View.

  6. Bookmarking the Revenue and Expense report page will only save the URL, not the specific data pulled. The URL reuses the report page, so different months’ data (e.g., April vs. March) cannot be bookmarked.

  7. To compare two date ranges, open two Chrome tabs with ZenMaid, run different months in each, and consider taking screenshots for easy comparison.

  8. The Metric View serves as a proactive tool by providing projected revenue based on scheduled appointments. Note that this projected revenue excludes tips and taxes and differs from the actual figures shown in the Revenue and Expenses report.
